NEW DELHI — An Indian woman has been arrested after she was attacked by a group of men in New Dehli.
The attack took place in the city’s Dharwad area on Thursday.
A man was beaten up by three men in front of his mother and four of his friends.
One of the attackers reportedly took a knife and slashed her body several times.
The woman, who has not been named, was rushed to the hospital and was in a critical condition, police said.
“I was with my friends and we were going to the market when a man came and assaulted us and the others,” a friend told NDTV.
Police said the woman was on her way home when the attack occurred.
Her body was ripped apart and parts of her body were found at the scene.
Another friend of the woman told NDtv that she was on a bike when she was targeted.
In another video posted on social media, the attacker can be seen attacking a woman in a hijab and ripping her head off.
Indian women are a target for hate crime and attacks are on the rise, as the country struggles with a growing number of rapes and other sexual violence, police say.
