The weather in New Zealand is forecast to be mild for much of next week, with rain showers expected in the south-west and a chance of some sunshine.
Auckland residents are also likely to get their first chance to check out a new city park in the early hours of Friday morning.
The Wellington City Council has confirmed it is open to the public and will be open until 7pm.
City-run parks around New Zealand are being re-opened to the general public on Friday.
They are being open to families and visitors with pets.
The park opening is part of a plan to open up the city to the wider public.
Council leader Nick Tait said it was important that people who would normally not be able to access the city had access to parks, sports facilities and the city’s infrastructure.
The council has launched a website with more details on how to get into the parks.
It said it would be open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
